Oily skin care

Oily skin is the result of over active sebaceous glands. A substance called sebum is secreted by these glands, normally it is a healthy natural lubricant for the skin but when it is secreted in excess it leads to oily skin. It makes the skin becomes shiny, thick and dull. Oily skin has coarse pores, pimples and other face blemishes. Note that oily skin is not necessarily bad as this skin is less prone to wrinkling and other aging signs and the oil helps to keep needed moisture locked in the outermost layer of the skin. Oily skin can also be caused by other things such as pregnancy, birth control pills, high or imbalanced hormone levels and changes, diets, make-up we use, and terribly hot weather and so on. Oily skin is common in teenagers because of hormonal shifts of adolescence but it can also occur at any age however oily skin has a great advantage of aging slowly than other skin types. Oily skin can be cared for in so many ways: get a good face cleanser or soap not harsh or heavy ones, use lightly medicated soaps, and don’t use cleansers that contain alcohol or artificial additives, also try antibacterial cleaning lotions and always apply a natural oil free moisturizer to keep skin soft. The oily skin also needs special cleansing day and night with plenty of warm water and mild soap to prevent clogged pores, harsh products strips the skin from oils and promotes dryness and this can cause skin to start shrinking or wrinkling. Always make sure you moisturize skin after cleansing with oil free moisturizers to maintain a supple and shine free complexion.

Adverse Side Effects of Using Central Nervous System Stimulants

Methylphenidate (MPH) is a central nervous system stimulant, which affects chemicals in the brain and nerves that contribute to hyperactivity and impulse control. Hence, this is used in the treatment of Attention-Deficit Hyperacitivity Disorder (ADHD), depression, lethargy, obesity, and other psychiatric disorders like obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Many people, particularly teens think that MPH is safe or mild drug because of its medical use. Pre-teens and adolescents abuse this drug to lose weight, stay awake or increase their attention span or for euphoric effects. According to a report by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) released in 2009, 1.8 percent of 8th graders, 3.6 percent of 10th graders, and 2.1 percent of 12th graders abuse methylphenidate.

7 Ways to Wrap Up Your Vacation Safely

A vacation’s excitement and anticipation often leaves us more focused on what we’ll do once we arrive at our destination, and less focused on remembering the cell phone charger, sunscreen and whether the coffee pot was unplugged before dashing out the door. Unfortunately, this lack of common sense tends to linger when we’re away from familiar territory and routines. As campers, beach goers and adventure seekers everywhere pack their bags and set out for a much needed respite, it’s important to follow a few basic health and safety tips so that this year’s vacation memories will be ones you’ll want to remember.

Breakfast and the Amazing Oats!

Individuals with Celiac disease should avoid oats.

Oat meal has been around since the Christian Era and first used for medicinal purposes. It wasn’t until much later that it was cultivated as a crop. Oats started out as an Asiatic plant and then was transplanted to the US. Today, Oats are the third most important grain crop in the United States.

The green leaves and stem have been used for anxiety, weakened bladder and connective tissue, connective tissue deficiencies, gout, kidney ailments, opium and tobacco withdrawal treatments, rheumatism, skin diseases, sleeplessness and stress.

Get Accredited With Medical Records Certification

There are many methods where Medical records certification is acquired. Some are attained through classes in local colleges or vocational schools. If you do not have the financial resources to enroll into an academic training course which specializes in this field, you are able to get a hold on an online course enrollment.

Look for credible online sources especially those which are registered with the local Health Ministry or the government board related with health policy.

Online courses will not only halve your total education duration because you do not need to travel to classes on a regular basis. You are also able to attend online lectures without much interference in the comfort of your own living room.

Medicare Advantage Health Plans Offer the Benefit of Predictable Costs

No one likes uncertainty, especially when it comes to money. If you are enrolled in Medicare, you know all to well that Medicare has some gaps in coverage. Medicare is a safety net and was never intended to pay 100% of covered services. Cost sharing with original Medicare includes hospital deductibles, co-pays and co-insurance for outpatient services. The biggest area of uncertainty is outpatient services. Medicare beneficiaries are required to pay 20% of medical costs.

One of the main reasons that individuals enroll in Medicare Advantage health plans is because of the predictable cost. With an Advantage plan, you know ahead of time what your costs will be for any services rendered.

Critical – What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis

I had high hopes for this book. Except for the one innovative idea, the creation of a Federal Health Board, this was an average book compared to the many available which detail the challenges of our dysfunctional healthcare system far better. The book is an easy read, doesn’t cover much in depth, but highlights all of the key points one needs to know to speak intelligently about the healthcare system (and presumably to be Secretary of Health and Human Services).

It is unclear whether creation of a Federal Health Board will be able to provide the impetus needed to make the American healthcare system higher quality, less costly, and more inclusive with universal coverage. One thing is clear from his book and that is Americans want a better healthcare system than currently exists. It won’t be a pure single payer government run system. It won’t be a free market private industry program. It will be a hybrid. What type of hybrid? Time will tell.
